Mr. Lou has been committed to the application of basic theoretical research in alumina production process, new alumina production processes, new technologies and related soft science research. He participated in the national key scientific and technological projects of aluminum industry from the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" to the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and a number of provincial and ministerial science and technology projects, won 17 national and provincial awards, participated in or acted as the leader in application for 25 patents, and participated in the preparation of 3 monographs. Mr. Lou has made significant achievements in improving product quality, saving energy and reducing consumption in the alumina industry and in the green revolution of the aluminum industry. He developed CGM, a water-based additive used in the decomposition process of alumina production, which filled the gap in this field, and he applied for an invention patent for it.
